What is Tibetan Pulsing Yoga? (Continued)

Philosophy - and Understanding

Tibetan Pulsing Yoga is primarily an experiential practice, focusing on touch and, most of all, on the heart rather than the mind, since it is through the energy and perception of the heart that deep transformation and meditation can take place. For this reason, most Tibetan Pulsing Yoga courses do not devote much time to traditional classroom lecturing or the teaching of purely intellectual concepts - instead the focus is usually on hands-on, practical and experiential work, with spaces in between for explanations, sharing and asking questions.

Nonetheless, it would be wrong to therefore conclude that Tibetan Pulsing Yoga does not incorporate profound philosophical and intellectual concepts in every area of Pulsing practice. There is a philosophical system underpinning every aspect of Tibetan Pulsing which, in my view, is the deepest system of philosophy which has ever existed in the world, to my knowledge.Pulsebeat

It is my firm view that Tibetan Pulsing offers a system of understanding which is so profound and wide-ranging that it should be shared in depth with every child at home and at school as part of their fundamental primary learning. It would provide them with the tools to understand and contextualise everything else in their lives, throughout the rest of their childhood and then adult life, in a way which reveals the real meaning and purpose of everything that is experienced, observed and felt in human life.

Every person who has ever wondered, "Oh, what does it all mean??" should in my view take up Tibetan Pulsing Yoga, as it beautifully and systematically explains the significance of life and every part of life.

Then, in so doing, either as a child or an adult, each person who delves into Tibetan Pulsing Yoga intellectually will find that it holds the power to transform their way of thinking so that they can open their hearts and perceive things more from the heart than from the mind, and hence I would likewise heartily recommend that they also take up the practice of Tibetan Pulsing Yoga itself, which is a natural extension of this process into what for many people becomes a lifetime passion.

Artistic Representation of the Throat by Socrates www.sacredgates.comIt is not necessary to be a Buddhist, or take a Buddhist view, in order to learn and appreciate the understanding which the Tibetan Pulsing system offers us - regardless of the nature of your religious, spiritual, atheistic or agnostic background (whatever the case may be!), we are dealing here with the "nuts and bolts" of what makes us human, in universal symbolic terms which transcend (as well as inform) any particular religious persuasion or traditional belief system that you may have.

Tibetan Pulsing Yoga is philosophical (= love of wisdom) and intellectual (= related to the mind) insofar as it pertains to concepts which on the one hand offer a profound understanding of "life, the universe and everything" (not, mind you, the number 42, notwithstanding the artistic achievements of Douglas Adams*!), and on the other hand, at the same time, practical guidelines for how to employ the many different techniques of Tibetan Pulsing Yoga for the betterment of ourselves, humanity and the world.

The ultimate goal and higher aspiration of all philosophical and intellectual pursuits is understanding. Shantam Dheeraj derived a revolutionary system of understanding every single aspect, large or small, which fills our everyday physical, emotional, mental and spiritual experience as human beings, and for this - and for the wonderful techniques themselves - I am forever grateful to him.

(*Douglas Adams was the author of the classic humourous novel, "The Hitch-hiker's Guide to the Galaxy," in which a super-computer calculated that the answer to the question "What is the meaning of life, the universe and everything?" is. . . 42).
